This was one of the more challenging but also one of the most rewarding projects during my studies. Using participatory design as our method, my group and I set out create a prototype with the goal of making computers more accessible to elderly citzens.

The prototype was created in collaboration with four senior citizens. Before ideas could be generated, the design group conducted a contextual survey to gain an understanding for the users relationship to their ICT-artefacts.

After this, a future workshop was conducted in which the participants first identified problems, then developed visions, to finally discuss the implementation of these visions.

The design group then held a prototyping workshop in which different implementations were tested. This led to the development of two prototypes which were evaluated with the participants.

Finally, one hi-fi prototype was created.
